Create a personal Cauze account at web.cauze.com/signup. Why personal? Because Cauze was built for you as a giver, independent of your role at your nonprofit. You'll use this login for both the app and the nonprofit admin portal.

Email grants@cauzecharitable.org with the email you used to sign up, your organization's name, and your EIN.

Our team will verify your role and grant you admin access. Please be patient — we're a small nonprofit ourselves, but we usually respond within a couple of business days.

Important notes

Cauze Charitable Fund is the donor of record for all donations. You do not need to send tax receipts — we've already handled that.

Please do not mail us receipts, thank-you notes, or marketing materials. We are inundated, and it goes directly into the trash.

Donor info is donor-controlled. Donors choose what to share with nonprofits — name and email only. About 80% of donors do not share their information. That said, our platform makes it simple to thank donors and build relationships regardless.

Grants process monthly once the total reaches $15. We pay via Bill.com — ACH if you connect with us (preferred), otherwise a physical check.

What nonprofits ask us.
Do I need to send tax receipts?
No. Cauze Charitable Fund is the donor of record for local and federal tax purposes. We've already provided the donor with a tax receipt. We kindly ask that you do not send us a receipt or add us to your direct mailing list.
Can I see who donated?
Cauze is donor-centric — donors have full control of their personal information. The only info we have is name and email, and the donor decides which nonprofits to share it with. About 80% of our donors do not share their information. That said, our admin portal makes it simple to thank donors and build a relationship regardless of what they choose to share.
How do I thank donors?
We've made it extremely simple. Thank donors in the Cauze portal or the app — when you do, that donor is immediately notified on their phone and via email. You can also "like" their donations in the Cauze feed, which notifies them too — similar to Instagram. Thank-you messages help donors feel the impact, get excited to share, and look forward to giving again.
Do you provide a grant or donor report?
We don't include details with the check (Bill.com doesn't enable that at scale), but our nonprofit admin portal gives you full visibility into your donation activity. Claim your profile to access it.
What are the fees?
When a giver donates using a credit card, they cover a small processing fee of 2.2% + $0.30 — paid to our payment processor, not to Cauze. The result is that 100% of their intended donation goes to your nonprofit. For donations from a gifted or matched balance, there is a processing fee of between 5% and 10%, depending on the program.
How will my organization receive funds?
We process grants monthly via Bill.com once the total reaches $15. Bill.com distributes payments via physical check (default) or via ACH (preferred). To receive ACH, your nonprofit must connect with us on Bill.com — it's free. Our Network ID is 0131578887033182. Once you've created an account, let us know at grants@cauzecharitable.org.
Does my nonprofit need to be a 501(c)(3)?
Yes. Cauze supports registered 501(c)(3) organizations. If your organization is registered, it's likely already in our system.

Grant Terms

All grants and special account names are recommendations of the donor and do not reflect the views of Cauze Charitable Fund. By accepting this grant, your organization certifies to Cauze Charitable that no donor or individual related to the donor will receive any goods, services or other private benefits, such as benefit tickets, school tuition, membership fees or goods purchases at an auction. This grant may not be used to fulfill a pre-existing pledge. Your organization should not provide a tax receipt for this grant — it was made from a donor-advised fund account, and Cauze Charitable Fund has already provided the donor with a tax receipt.
